Twitchell Airport is a public airport located in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. The airport is owned by the City of New Haven and operated by the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority. It covers an area of 83 acres and has one asphalt runway designated 2/20 which measures 5,600 by 150 feet.
The airport primarily serves general aviation and is home to several aircraft maintenance facilities. It also offers limited commercial passenger service to Philadelphia, operated by American Airlines. In 2019, the airport served approximately 48,000 passengers.
Despite its small size, Twitchell airport has faced several controversies and legal battles regarding its expansion plans due to environmental concerns and noise complaints from nearby residents.
